Ownership / sponsorship / solicitation
I own this site and at this time, I personally pay for all expenses related to it. This site is not sponsored by, or affiliated with, any firm within the credit industry. I do not solicit clients through this site or through any other credit discussion forums. If at any time, a relationship is formed between this website and any other interest, that information will be clearly disclosed on this site. No relationship will be entered into which undermines the purpose and integrity of this site.
Why this?
I was inspired to create this website not only by the stories I’ve heard from my clients and friends, but by some unfortunate (though predictable and commonplace) events in my own life. What I’ve learned as a consumer bankruptcy lawyer is that, by and large, people are misinformed about the credit industry and are unaware of the ways in which their money and their emotions are manipulated by that industry. This lack of knowledge leads people to make decisions that are detrimental to their financial and emotional well-being. It suits the interests of the credit card companies to have us remain in the dark because that is how they profit. And it suits these interests that we remain silent in our shame and guilt. My desire is to create discussion and promote knowledge in order to counteract the forces that put us and keep us in debt.
